Last weekend I was so excited that I had seen that our next door village was holding a scarecrow festival. Ruby had been feeling under the weather, so we were unsure if we were going to be able to go, but fortunately she perked up. I have never been to a scarecrow festival before but I know that anything that is done in this village is always run really well, so I decided it would be a great opportunity to spend some family time whilst enjoying the sunshine and also fabulous countryside.
We arranged to meet my mum, brother and sister and walked around looking at scarecrows with them.
We were amazed that in one tiny village there were over 70 scarecrows, it really was amazing. We were also very shocked at how big the village actually was, as we have never walked down all the little lanes before so it was really nice to see and admire places we had not seen before.
Ruby's favourite scarecrow was this one - Can you guess why?
We had a fantastic day walking and looking at the scarecrows and to think it only cost £2 per adult, it was an absolute bargain and we will certainly be going next year.
We were all very tired and slept very well on Saturday night! It must have been all the walking and fresh air!
Wow, what an interesting place to visit. The Church ones look a bit freaky though!
ReplyDeleteIt must be a village thing. Our village had its this weekend along with the village Carnival. We entered with a float and had a wonderful time. I have a feeling it will be my post for next week. There were plenty of local village supports watching as we went past and admiring the scarecrows just like yours in the gardens. Good to see it is not just a Cornish tradition. Thank you for sharing your scarecrow fun on Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteWow! I've never heard of a scarecrow festival before. It looks amazing. It reminds me of going to Derbyshire well dressings as a child
